Snow is rain, but frozen. Snow is fluffy, but cold. Now it’s snowy. Now it’s winter. Oh, it’s an abominable snowman! Oh, it’s an abominable snowdog! Well, it’s fun. Well, it’s cold. A snowman is a funny man made out of snow. A snowball is a ball made out of snow. It snows in the winter, which is December, January, February, and sometimes March. And by the way, my birthday is in February, which is soon! December, January, February, and March are all months. You learn them in kindergarten. If you ever see a snow hill, keep in mind it is made out of teeny-tiny little snowflakes. When it’s snowing, if you look closely on your sleeve you will see the little snowflakes on it. Did you know that no 2 snowflakes are alike? Sledding is using a sled and a snow hill to slide down. Tip: sleds are slippery in the winter. About the author: My name is Cate Elmer. Are you not sure how to play soccer? If you look in this book, you will learn. LOOK IN THE BOOK! To play soccer, you have to be dressed appropriately. First, you need to get a jersey and shorts. Then, you need tall socks and cleats. You also need shinguards. First, put on your jersey and shorts. Then you put on your shinguards and pull on the socks. The cleats go on last. They can be any color. When you play soccer, you will need to know the rules. One of the rules is that if you score in your goal, then you’re giving the other team a point. You can’t teach the ball with your hands unless you are the goalie. If the ball goes out of bounds, the ref gets the ball. When the whistle blows once the game starts. When it blows 2 times, the game ends. Practice is usually first. When you’re dribbling the ball, you’re moving it. It’s like dribbling in basketball. Soccer can be inside or outside. Sometimes you play in turf. The positions are left forward, right forward, center forward, defense, and goalie. The forwards go to the middle of the field. The defense go to the box on the field, and the goalie goes to the goal. The goalie has to protect the goal, so the ball doesn’t go in. About the author: My name is Mira Kaftan. The Long Adventure
I was going on my first adventure with my cat. We walked through dawn, dusk, night, and day. I carried my cat the whole way. We had lots of fun until my cat ran away. It was like she found something better to do, and left me. I was just a little kid, so I was scared. It was dark, but I saw a shadow moving towards me. It was my cat! She was carrying a basket of fresh fruit. I found a lost pillow to go to bed with and fell asleep. When I woke up, I was in my bed with my cat. It was all a dream!

The Dandelion Field
It was the beginning of spring. The flowers were blooming and gardens were growing. Best of all, the dandelions were beautiful! It was like an angel made them. But an angel didn’t. A little girl did. She was as small as a fairy. She was even smaller than her pig! One day her pig ate the dandelions. Suddenly, a dragon swooped down with a bundle of new dandelions. The girl tried to grab them, but the dragon grabbed the tiny little girl instead! Years later, she turned into a mermaid from the magical dandelions. The dragon dropped her in the sea and the girl met a new merfamily and lived happily ever after.
